North
Somerset Council consists of two parliamentary
constituencies; Woodspring and Weston Super
Mare. The Council is currently under Conservative
administration led by Cllr. Nigel Ashton. There
are currently 46 Conservative District Councillors
within North Somerset, 21 of these are from
Woodspring.
The Woodspring constituency includes Clevedon,
Nailsea, Portishead, Yatton and surrounding
villages, for example, Backwell, Easton-in-Gordano,
Long Ashton etc.
The parliamentary seat has
been held by Dr. Liam Fox MP since 1992.
